Eagle Cap Coaching

Ginny Sorensen is a Portland-based personal and professional development coach. She helps clients define the work and personal lives they want so they can start living them.

Background

With experience working across several industries and within both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, I have served as a team leader, program manager and director, internal and external consultant, and coach in my 20+ year career (with brief stints as an English teacher and pastry cook as well).Clients tell me I bring value by helping them reconnect with their personal values and their “why” as they explore the many possible trails they could follow in their lives. I love working with people in transition who long for care and support to figure out what’s next and to answer the question, “Who am I now?” as they navigate shifts in their careers, relationships, or identities. My clients are often folks looking to reconnect and realign with what’s most important to them, whether at work, at home, or both.Personally, I’ve navigated several career pivots and a major illness, as well as the trials of caregiving and loss of a parent. Through those trials, I’ve worked to design a life where success is defined on my own terms, aligned with the values most important to me. I want that alignment, agency, and sense of possibility for my clients as well.

Trained by the Co-Active Training Institute as a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC), and credentialed as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) by the International Coaching Federation, I have over 200 hours of coach-specific training and supervision.I also hold a bachelor's degree from Willamette University in French and a master's degree from Portland State University in post-secondary, adult, and continuing education.I'm a lifelong learner and regularly seek out new skills, experience, and information to further expand my ability to support my clients.

In an incredibly thoughtful, kind and genuine way, she helped me reshape and better understand my strengths and skills.
